Global Skills Attends Y NSW Youth Careers Expo at Y Space Central Coast
Yesterday a group of Global Skills Transition to Work and Workforce Australia Central Coast team members and Managers had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Y NSW Youth Careers Expo at Y Space Central Coast, Lake Haven. Global Skills Transition to Work Performance Manager Chloe Butler said, “What a wonderful day to meet so many young people and connect with the range of service providers on the Coast. The engagement across the community was fantastic.”
Over 700 youth connected with 60 services throughout the four-hour event. Global Skills staff had the opportunity to meet many young people to explain our services and how Transition to Work and Workforce Australia services can support them sustain meaningful and suitable employment. We discussed how we can support pathways to employment and further study, and connected with local employers and other youth services.
The day also allowed Simon Fairall, Global Skills Executive Manager, and Performance Manager Dillon Van De Wint to present Helen from the Phoenix Youth Support Service, a project of Wyong Neighbourhood Centre, with a donation of Good Boxes from Global Skills. The boxes are filled with quality, essential items such as food and hygiene products to help those experiencing homelessness get through some tough times.
Congratulations to the Y NSW on such a great event.
