“I thrive on the face-to-face interaction that comes with my role. I like being able to get to know each job seeker individually. By understanding their story. I know what they need to be successful before commencing employment.”
Global Skills Project Coordinator, Tanya Fraga has been working in the Employment Services sector for 14 years, eight of those have been with Global Skills.
Working throughout Greater Western Sydney, Tanya delivers our Career Transition Assistance (CTA) program and is a Project Coordinator for our industry and employer partnerships, including the Sydney Metro Pre-Employment Programs.
Our CTA program is aimed at enhancing the digital and employability skills of job seekers aged 45 and over. She says, “I love learning about our participants work history and supporting them to attain their work goals”.
“Our CTA participants come from a wide variety of backgrounds and I love the diversity as much as I enjoy helping them learn new skills and helping them create their own new networks.”
Tanya’s Project Coordinator role involves overseeing our Pre-Employment Programs designed alongside industry, employers and training partners.
“My role is to pre-screen participants to our programs and arm them with the information they need to be successful with the employers. I coordinate all pre-employment checks including Police, Working With Children and Medical. I also arrange participant interviews for selection into the programs.
“When participants enter a program, I am involved for the duration of the program, whether it be 3 or 4 weeks. If they have a 7am start in the City, I’m there too, supporting, mentoring, anything they do, I do. I love it, it’s probably one of the highlights of my role.
“When the program is completed and their jobs starts, I continue to support them for the first six months of their employment.
Tanya loves getting to know each of her job seekers individually, learning about their backgrounds so that she can gain an understanding of where they have come from. She believes that understanding people individually leads to successful job placements.
As for Global Skills, Tanya says, “It’s like a family. The whole team is very supportive. I can go to the management team with anything and feel heard. They also check in to see how I am. I have never had that anywhere else.”
Tanya brings her energy, enthusiasm and love of people to assisting job seekers into employment. We are proud to have her on our team and representing us with so many of our key stakeholders.
