“The day after my first appointment with Global Skills, they arranged an interview with their employer Makibe. My interview went well and I started work the very next day. I am very happy with the service I received.”  

Steven Nguyen, 23, left school early and had limited work experience. He joined Global Skills after what he calls a “big gap” in employment.

Steven was connected with Cabramatta Employment Consultant, Trinh. During their first meeting, Trinh helped Steven update his resume after conducting a review of his transferrable skills, goals and interests. Trinh then identified a Pick and Pack position with Makibe Australia Pty Ltd that would suit Steven. The role was being managed by Global Skills Marketing Officer Ven. Ven was able to arrange for Steven to attend an interview the following day.

After a successful interview Steven was immediately offered a job. With some additional support from Global Skills, Steven started work the day after his interview. 

Stephen remembers, “Trinh arranged everything. She even helped me financially. She organised PPE clothing and safety boots, so I had everything I needed to start work.”

He added, “I was very happy to be able to start work just two days after switching to Global Skills. I like my job in warehousing. It’s going well.”
