When Steven began his journey with Global Skills, he had doubts about finding employment due to a history of justice involvement. He is now thriving in a full-time role.

Steven connected with Global Skills Fairfield in February 2024 and was uncertain about how to approach his job search and return to work. Steven’s Employment Consultant, Youssef, worked closely with him to build confidence in job searching and what he would offer an employer, including his newly acquired skills and workplace certification.

When Steven was ready, Youssef and Global Skills Marketer Joan worked together to help him connect with an inclusive employer. This led to Steven securing a full-time warehouse position close to home. Global Skills has further supported Steven with petrol to get to and from work plus essential work clothing. Youssef continues to provide ongoing post placement support to ensure his continued employment success.

Reflecting on the support he received, Steven expressed gratitude; “When I first came to Global Skills, I was unsure what to do to even find employment, but Global Skills has helped me find work that is close to my home. This job has helped me in many ways including being motivated to do better things in my life. I would like to thank Youssef for being patient with me and helping me progress towards and into employment. Thank you as well for all the work clothing and the help with fuel.”
