Cate’s determination and dedication to utilise Global Skills on-site job hub resources on a daily basis has paid off by recently securing a full-time job.
When Cate, aged 58, joined Global Skills The Entrance in May this year, she did not have access to a personal computer. She visited Global Skills daily to access our job search resources, which included assistance in successfully navigating a NSW Government job application.
Grateful for the support she received, Cate shared, “The location of Global Skills being near my home made it convenient for me to visit and use their facilities to search and apply for jobs and related tasks like uploading necessary documents for the Government job I had applied for. Mel (Cate’s Employment Consultant) assisted me scan and upload my documents and helped me progress through the multiple stages of the application process. Once I was offered the job, I inquired about the dress code, and they informed me it was corporate wear. Global Skills promptly arranged for my uniform, which was incredibly helpful. They provided me with shoes, trousers, a shirt, and a cardigan, all suitable for my new workplace. I simply didn’t have the budget to purchase a computer or new clothing, so Global Skills’ support has been invaluable. I’m thrilled to have secured this job opportunity and excited to be working full-time.”
Congratulations Cate, from the entire team at Global Skills. We are proud to have played a role in your employment success. Thank you for sharing your story.
