Everyone Belongs

Today, 21 March 2022, is Harmony Day. A day to celebrate our cultural diversity, from the oldest continuous culture of our first Australians to the cultures of our newest arrivals from around the world.

As Harmony Day coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, it’s also a time to renew our commitment to combat racism.

Last November, Global Skills made a public stand against racism by signing on to the Australian Human Rights Commission’s national anti-racism campaign, ‘Racism. It stops with me’. On signing the agreement, Global Skills Director Rebecca Nicholls said, “Endorsing this campaign builds on our existing initiatives to prevent discrimination and support cultural diversity in our workplaces and beyond.”

Global Skills is committed to fostering a sense of inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all. We are proud of our diverse team and the unique skills each member brings to supporting job seekers and employers within our multicultural communities.

Today we celebrated Harmony Day by wearing orange and sharing a culturally diverse morning tea in each of our 19 offices. The spread was as diverse as our team.
