Last week, 5-11 August, was Homelessness Week. A week which aims to highlight the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness, and the need for sustainable solutions.
Throughout the week, Global Skills Managers, Chloe, Simon, Jasmin and Kate, had the pleasure of gifting essential food, warm clothing and hygiene products to Mingaletta Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community hub, San Remo Neighbourhood Centre, Barnardos Penrith and Macarther Family and Youth Services. Each of these services provides valuable support to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in our local communities.
People experiencing homelessness are unemployed or underemployed at disproportionately high rates. Global Skills strives to support job seekers to address their individual challenges and connect them with our network of complementary services. Our staff are proud to support these organisations and recognise the invaluable work they do for our local communities.
