This week, we took 5 minutes out of WFD/Community Engagement Officer Jennifer Juderjahn’s busy day and asked her a few questions to help you get to know her.

Jennifer has qualifications in Work Health and Safety Risk Assessment and has been employed in the Employment Services sector for more than 8 years.  

While Jennifer mostly sits at Global Skills Wyong, she works throughout our Sydney North and West service region and is a much-valued member of our team.

Q. What do you do at Global Skills?
A. I network with local community organisations to build pathways for our job seekers to support services. I am also responsible for building partnerships with not for profit organisations to create Work for the Dole (WFD) activities to support job seekers build workplace skills and experience. I also look at what other job seeker opportunities may be available in our community, including employment.

Q. What do you enjoy about the work you do?
A. When you can see the difference you make, helping job seekers realise their employment goals, I love it. I enjoy networking, community engagement and the flexibility my role offers to explore job seeker opportunities.

Q. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A. I had an interest in History and studied Archaeology. I actually worked as a student Archaeologist for a while when I was younger.

Q. What’s a typical work day like for you?
No two days are the same but might include organising WFD activities, visiting our WFD hosts, talking with job seekers and other Global Skills staff about WFD opportunities, community engagement and helping out at one of our sites.

Q. What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
A. My networking. I network with many different organisations and services, our job seekers and employers. I like connecting them together.

Q. What have you learnt in previous jobs and your past experience that helps you in your current job?
A. In my past roles I have had the opportunity to build my networking skills, with a diverse range of organisations and people.

Q. Best thing about being part of the Global Skills Team?  
A. I love the team we have. We work together. I think that’s why we can make a real difference in the lives of our job seekers.
