After raising her family for 12 years, Jenny Hagarty decided to re-enter the workforce.

“I had been busy raising my family but needed to find a source of income to improve my future,” she said.

Within two months of commencing with Global Skills Liverpool, Global Skills Marketer brokered a two-week paid trial at Wetherill Park Market Town for Jenny in their maintenance and cleaning crew. At the end of the trial Jenny was offered a full-time job.

“Oh my gosh, it was just amazing. I found a piece of myself again,” Jenny said.

“I went from being a mum to being ‘Jenny’ again. From not just surviving but to living and thriving.

“Global Skills helped me rebuild my confidence and self-esteem. They were understanding and supportive.”

Jenny was also supported with work clothes and counselling services.

Jenny started her role just as the COVID pandemic started, which meant taking on additional duties within the shopping centre to ensure safety for shoppers and staff. Six months ago Jenny she was offered a new role at Rosetti’s Cafe, an Italian restaurant located in Market Town.

“I love my new job, the people, the team, everyone.

“Working has made a huge difference to my life. I now have financial independence and purpose.”
