Yesterday, Global Skills had the privilege of attending the International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) celebration at Jordy’s Place on the Central Coast. The event was organised by Unisson Disability and Global Skills partner, the Trilogy Foundation.
It was a great opportunity for families, educators, health professionals and service providers to come together, learn about available support services and celebrate the contributions of people with disability. This year’s IDPwD theme is ‘Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future.’
During the event, our Community Engagement Coordinator, Jennifer, met with Global Skills TtW job seeker, Hayley. Hayley is currently completing Trilogy’s Launch into Work Disability Support Worker Pre-Employment Program and is gaining valuable experience. She shared, “I’m really enjoying the program and have learnt a lot. For IDPwD, I’d like to highlight that every person with a disability has different strengths they can contribute to society.”
Jennifer added, “It’s wonderful for the Launch into Work participants to contribute to the success of events like this and have the chance to build valuable community and industry connections.”
