Congratulations to Global Skills Transition to Work (TtW) job seeker Lam for gaining his Driver’s Licence – a key milestone that opened the door to his first ever job in his desired industry.

Lam, aged 17, joined our TtW Lake Haven program in March last year. Lam had left school with no prior work experience and was keen on working in the building industry.

Lam participated in many of our TtW group sessions and as his job search skills grew, he recognised that obtaining his drivers licence would open up more job opportunities across the coast.

With support from his Global Skills Employment Consultant Nikita and Bara Barang, Lam received professional driving lessons which led to gaining his Provisional Licence (P Plates) in November. 

Nikita further supported Lam to locate and apply for a job in the building industry and after a successful interview, Lam started work with a local Building Company in late November.
