Global Skills’ Senior Performance Manager, Catherine Abrahams, celebrated 15 years with the company this week. Thank you, Cat, for all that you do. You’ve had an enormous impact on changing the lives of our job seekers and developing our teams across our business.
We asked Cat to reflect on her 15 years with Global Skills:
“There are so many things that we can do to make change in the world but people often don’t recognise how life changing it can be for someone to start work.
“For many people, work is very central to our identities – it can give us purpose, confidence and a sense of self. It gives us stability and structure and helps us support ourselves and our families.
“Being without a job can be really disheartening and often people just don’t know where to start or how to go about making change – it can be overwhelming. We get the opportunity to support our jobseekers at what is often a very challenging time and to see them come out the other side of that.
“I love working at Global Skills. Management has provided with me with a lot opportunities for training, support and mentoring and I’m very grateful for that.
“I’ve been given so many opportunities over the past 15 years to build a meaningful career and every day I get to work with a team of people who are passionate about what they do and who go the extra mile to support not only our clients, but also each other.
“I can come to work and be confident that I work in a business that does things for the right reasons and with our community at its centre. It’s rewarding to come to work every day and be able to do something meaningful that makes real change in the world.”
