Last Wednesday, in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Global Skills was proud to partner with Uniting NSW/ACT, headspace Chatswood, and Willoughby Council to host an inaugural ‘Stronger Together – Youth & Community Wellness’ event at Chatswood Mall.
The day was a great success, providing community members with the opportunity to learn about and connect with a variety of mental health services in a relaxed setting. Attendees enjoyed background music with special thanks to The St Vincent de Paul Society’s Forbes Street Band, a free barbecue (a big thank you to Streetwork for supplying the cooktop), a climbing wall, and a petting zoo.
This event also offered a valuable opportunity for Global Skills to showcase our services. We highlighted our GSPlus mental health support available through Global Skills Chatswood in partnership with Uniting NSW/ACT. Our Community Engagement Consultant, Robert, commented, “It was a privilege to help organise and attend this successful event. We had many meaningful conversations about mental health and wellbeing and enjoyed working with other local support services to raise awareness of the resources available to our community.”
