National Homelessness Week 2023: Supporting Local Charities and Raising Awareness
This week August 7-13 is National Homelessness Week. In recognition of the strong link between homelessness and unemployment, Global Skills is pleased to once again partner with the Good Box to support local charities within our service regions.
Over the past two days, Global Skills Managers Simon Fairall, Nancy Matta and Rachael De La Barra have had the pleasure of gifting a total of 100 Good Boxes to Core Community Services and Dignity in South Western Sydney and Dom’s Place, an initiative of CatholicCare Diocese of Broken Bay located in Hornsby. Each of these services provides a range of valuable supports to people experiencing homelessness in our local communities.
The boxes are filled with quality, essential items such as warm clothing, food and hygiene products to help those experiencing homelessness get through some tough times.
As part of our continuing commitment to supporting our local communities, Global Skills staff participated in Feel the Chill 2023. On Tuesday, we asked all employees to come into work wearing one less winter item like a jumper, jacket, or hoodie. This initiative by The Good Box helps shine a light on the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness.
